L'ORTHOPUS Explorer
Robotic arm in development

Performs arm and hand movements to grasp and manipulate objects
The third robotic assistant in our range, the ORTHOPUS Explorer is a robotic arm that attaches to a wheelchair. With six joints and multiple fingers, this robotic arm allows users to reach or move objects: press an elevator button, pull someone’s sleeve, turn on a water tap, use a comb, and more.
AVAILABLE IN 2027 / 2028
CONTROL OF THE ROBOTIC ARM
EXTENDER, A DEDICATED RESEARCH PROJECT

The goal of the EXTENDER project is to develop innovative control interfaces to enable people with disabilities to operate the ORTHOPUS Explorer installed on their wheelchair.
The idea is to transfer academic expertise developed in research laboratories and adapt it to the autonomy needs of people with limited mobility. Several control interfaces will be tested with users.
For EXTENDER, ORTHOPUS is the winner of the Défi Transfert Robotique call for projects, a France2030 programm supported by the ANR (French National Research Agency) and Bpifrance – Reference ANR-23-DMRO-0022.

THE CONSORTIUM OF PARTNERS ALONGSIDE ORTHOPUS:
